BIBLE STUDY BY REV.NATH EZEH

TIME MANAGEMENT

What is Time?

Time is a precious resource/gift given to us by God on a NON-REPEATABLE basis. We therefore, need to steward it carefully and make sure it is fruitfully used in His Service.

Time can be defined on the measurable period in which things happen.

What is Management?

Management is an art through which we utilize the resource or whatever we have in an efficient manner.

What is Time Management about?

Time Management takes as whatever we have possession of including our twenty-four hours per day. We are profitable only to the extent through whatever we will do to bring Glory to God.

It is very important that our dailies assesses ourselves and appraise our activities and make amend in everyday. All things we want to do per day, we didn't have time for them. Whenever you are using your time think of yourself and your children generations (1 Chronicles 17:1-2; 10-14). Any time that new idea comes upon you, to do a change that will lead to progress, then you have wasted the day.

You cannot separate your time from your services. In using your time, you have, you have to do something that the next generation will do and make them line up for Jesus. 2 Tim.1: 3-5.

The time allotted to us by God is continually being used up. Time can be likened to life. The Time given to an one can be fruitfully and productively used in the service of God only if we are willing and obedient (Isaiah 1:19) as his Servants. Many people unfortunately thoughtlessly squared time instead of be careful on how they live each day; the years fly by little achieved.

As a Christian, we should live each day as if tomorrow were our last (Mark 13: 32-37; Matthew 6: 34). We should approach each day with a sense of awe and purpose. We will never pass through the day again, once it has been wasted. We must learn to organize and steward our time so that our work or life priorities are achieve thereby doing God's will for our lives.

We will need to make difficult decision about which things to give our time to; after all we can only be in one place at a time. We will have to make choices between seemingly worthy or important ways to spend our time between family affairs and church works or programmes. However, if we seek God, He will make it clear, how He wants us to use our time. In fact, the Holy Spirit (the Counselor) who leads us into all truth, He will show us the most important call/demand upon our time, if we surrender to Him.

Note!

TIME UNUSED is LOST FOREVER, TOMORROW MAY NEVER COME.

We need to remember that everything happen according to God's planning and timing. A time we may want everything done in a hurry, but God may have other ideas. As long as it is God we are serving not goals or even people, and then we need to wait upon Him, do what He asks us to do for Him, and then trust Him with the timing knowing fully well that God knows all. As we wait upon Him, He will direct us through the Holy Spirit, so that as we turn to the left and to the right, we will hear a voice behind us saying,This is the way; walk in it. (Isaiah 30:21).

Therefore time management is about utilizing our time or our lives efficiently and effective to the glory of God our creator. (Revelation 4 : 11).

Ephesians 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. .
